Questions

How do I make a picture square?

Add it: the box is already the largest square that fits, in the middle. Drag it to the part you want and press Crop. Resize to sets an exact size such as 1080 × 1080.

Can I make it square without cutting anything off?

Not here: cropping always cuts. To keep the whole picture, add borders to make it square with a photo editor.

Does cropping lower the quality?

JPGs are cut without saving them again, so the part you keep stays exactly as it was. To do that, the top-left corner moves in steps of 8 or 16 pixels, and the last strip at the right and bottom edges is saved once at the photo's own quality, so nothing hidden from the cut-away part stays in the file. Choose Exact edge if the corner must sit on an exact pixel. PNG, GIF and lossless WEBP keep every pixel; other crops are saved again at high quality.

Can I crop many images at once?

Yes, up to 100. With Same settings for all, every image gets the same ratio, size and shape, and each box starts in the middle of its picture; move any box in the strip of pictures, or use one box for all.

Are my images uploaded?

No. Cropping happens in your browser, on your device. Nothing is sent anywhere.

Can I crop someone else's photo?

Only if you have the right to use it. Cutting a photographer's credit or watermark out of their picture can break copyright law in many countries.
