Questions

Why WAV?

It's uncompressed, so editing apps open it everywhere and nothing is lost in editing. Files are big: about 10 MB per minute in stereo.

Are my videos uploaded?

No. Everything happens in your browser, so your videos never reach our servers. That's also why big files are fast: only the sound is read.

Which files can I convert?

MP4, MOV (iPhone videos), MKV, WEBM, M4V, 3GP and TS videos, and M4A, AAC, MP3, OGG, OPUS, WAV and FLAC sound files. AVI, WMV, FLV and MPG files can't be read by browsers; save them as MP4 in a video app first.

Which quality should I pick?

Standard 192 kbps sounds like the original for most listening. 128 is fine for speech and podcasts; 256 or 320 for music on good headphones. A higher setting can't add quality the video's sound doesn't have.

Can I keep only part of the video's sound?

Yes. Choose Edit, then set the start and end on the timeline or type the times. You can also make it louder, even out the volume and add fades.

Can I add a title and a cover picture?

Yes. Each MP3 gets its title from the file name, and a cover from a frame of the video. In Edit you can change the title, add the artist, album and year, pick another frame, or use your own picture.

Is anything else from the video kept?

No. Details like where a video was filmed, or the phone it was made on, are never copied into the MP3.

My video has two languages. Which one do I get?

The video's main sound track. If there are more, pick another one on the file's row or in Edit.

Can I convert a video from a link?

No. FizzyTools only converts files on your device, and never downloads videos from websites or links. Convert videos you made or have permission to use.

Why won't some videos convert?

A few videos use a sound format browsers can't read (AC-3, E-AC-3 or DTS, found in some camcorder and movie files), or have no sound track. We say which file and why. Try a desktop media app for those.

Are there limits?

Up to 50 files at a time, 10 GB and 3 hours of sound per file. It's free, with no sign-up, no watermark and no daily limit.
