Are my images uploaded?
No. Everything happens in your browser, so your images never reach our servers.
How do I make a photo exactly 20 KB?
Add it and it's done: this page is set to 20 KB. We find the best quality that fits and make the photo smaller in pixels only if it has to be.
My form asks for an exact pixel size too.
Under Size choose Exact size, enter the width and height (for example 200 × 230), and pick Crop to fill. Then set the target size.
How much smaller will they get?
Phone photos usually get 60–80% smaller at Recommended. Screenshots and PNGs often get 50–70% smaller. Images that are already well compressed are kept as they are.
Will they look worse?
At Recommended you won't see a difference at normal size. Use Compare to check any image at 100%, and change its quality if you like.
Does PNG keep transparency?
Yes. PNGs stay PNGs, transparency included. Recommended uses fewer colours, which most screenshots and logos don't need; Best quality is lossless.
What happens to the location and camera details?
By default all photo info is removed, location included. You can keep the date and camera, or everything, under Photo info. Photos are always turned the right way up.
Why does an image say "Already small"?
It couldn't get smaller without losing quality, so we kept your original instead of giving you a bigger file.
Which formats work?
JPG, PNG, WEBP, AVIF, HEIC (iPhone), BMP and TIFF. HEIC, BMP and TIFF are saved as JPG (or PNG if transparent). GIFs and SVGs aren't supported.
Are there limits?
Up to 100 images at a time and 100 MB per image. Images over 50 megapixels are reduced to 50. It's free, with no sign-up, no watermark and no daily limit.
