Questions
Are my photos uploaded?
No. Everything happens in your browser, so your photos never reach our servers. That matters for photos of your family, home or ID.
What is a HEIC file?
HEIC (or HEIF) is the format iPhones and iPads use for photos. It keeps quality in smaller files, but Windows, many websites and older apps can't open it. JPG opens everywhere.
Will I lose quality?
No visible loss: High quality keeps the camera's detail at the original size, and the photo's colours (including the iPhone's wider Display P3 colours) are kept. Choose PNG if you need lossless files.
What happens to the location in my photos?
By default we remove where the photo was taken and keep the date, camera and settings. You can keep everything, or remove all details, under Photo details.
Can I convert many photos at once?
Yes, up to 500 at a time. They convert one after another as soon as you add them, and Download all puts them in one ZIP, dated with when each photo was taken.
Why are my photos the right way up now?
iPhones store rotation separately; some apps ignore it. We turn every photo upright, so it looks right everywhere.
How do I save the JPGs to Photos on my phone?
After converting, tap "Save to Photos" (on Android, "Save or share") and choose Save Images, or save one photo at a time. You can also download them all as a ZIP.
Does it work with Live Photos and bursts?
A Live Photo's still picture is a HEIC and converts normally (the short video is a separate file). If one HEIC holds several images, we convert the main photo.
Are there limits?
Up to 500 photos at a time, 200 MB per photo and 2 GB in total. Photos over 50 megapixels are reduced so every device can open them. It's free, with no sign-up, no watermark and no daily limit.
