Questions
Which MP4 videos work?
MP4s from phones, cameras, screen recorders and the web (H.264, AV1 and VP9). HEVC MP4s work where the browser can read them.
Are my videos uploaded?
No. Everything happens in your browser, so your videos never reach our servers. Only the seconds you choose are read, so even big videos open fast.
How long can a GIF be?
Up to 60 seconds and 1,800 frames. Most GIFs are 2 to 10 seconds: shorter GIFs are smaller and play more smoothly.
How do I make my GIF smaller?
Choose Fit under and a size, and we shrink it until it fits. You can also pick a smaller size, a lower frame rate, Small file, a shorter moment, or WebP, which is about a sixth of the size.
Can I add text?
Yes, up to two captions, for example top and bottom meme text. Pick where they go, their size and style, and whether they show for the whole GIF or just part of it.
Can I crop, turn or mirror the video?
Yes. Drag the box on the picture or pick a shape like square (1:1) or vertical (9:16). Remove black bars finds and cuts letterbox borders.
Can I make it faster, slower or play it backwards?
Yes: speed from 0.25× to 4×, Reverse, and Boomerang, which plays forward and then back.
GIF or WebP?
GIF plays everywhere, including email and older apps. WebP looks better and is much smaller, and plays in current browsers and most apps.
Can I make a GIF with a transparent background?
Yes, from a video with transparency (a WEBM with an alpha channel). Chrome and Safari keep it; other browsers give the GIF a background.
Can I make a GIF from a video link?
No. FizzyTools only works with files on your device, and never downloads videos from websites or links. Make GIFs from videos you made or have permission to use.
Is anything else from the video kept?
No. Details like where a video was filmed, or the phone it was made on, are never copied into the GIF.
Are there limits or a watermark?
No watermark, no sign-up and no daily limit. Videos up to 10 GB; GIFs up to 60 seconds and 1,280 pixels wide.
