Questions

Does cutting an MP3 lower its quality?

No. The MP3's frames are copied, not re-encoded, so the part you keep sounds exactly the same. Fades and volume changes do encode it again, and the page says so first.

Are my files uploaded?

No. Everything happens in your browser, so your files never reach our servers. That's also why long files are fast.

Which files work?

MP3, M4A, M4R, AAC, WAV, FLAC, OGG and OPUS sound files, and the sound of MP4, MOV, MKV, WEBM, M4V, 3GP and TS videos. AVI, WMV, FLV, MPG, WMA, AMR and APE files can't be read by browsers; save them as MP3 or MP4 in another app first.

How long can a file be?

Up to 10 GB and 12 hours. You can cut a long file by typing the times, even while its waveform is still being read.

How do I remove a part from the middle?

Choose Remove, then drag the handles over the part you don't want. Add more parts if you need to. The rest closes up. A crossfade under Sound smooths the join.

How do I split a long recording?

Choose Split, then add split points where you want them, or split every few minutes or into equal parts. Each part becomes its own file, and Download all gives you a ZIP.

How do I make an iPhone ringtone?

Turn on Ringtone, keep it to 30 seconds and choose iPhone. On iOS 26 or later, save the file to Files, open it, tap Share and then Use as Ringtone. On older iOS, drag the .m4r file onto the iPhone in Finder or iTunes.

How do I set a ringtone on Android?

Turn on Ringtone and choose Android to get an MP3. Save it, then open Settings, Sound, Phone ringtone and choose Add, or pick it from your files. Names vary by phone.

Can I cut a song?

Cut sound you made or have permission to use. Buying a song doesn't always include the right to copy it.

Can I cut audio from a link?

No. FizzyTools only cuts files on your device, and never downloads from websites or links.

Why does my browser say it can't make a format?

MP3 output needs Safari 16.4 or newer, Chrome, Edge or Firefox. M4R and M4A from an MP3 need a browser with an AAC encoder, such as current Chrome, Edge or Safari 26; Firefox has none. Cuts in the original format work in every supported browser.

Are there limits?

One file at a time, up to 10 GB and 12 hours, and up to 100 parts. It's free, with no sign-up, no watermark and no daily limit.
