Questions
Can I use these barcodes on products I sell?
Yes. They're free for any use, including commercial use, with no sign-up and no watermark. SVG, PDF and 1,200 DPI are included.
Do you give me a barcode number?
No. FizzyTools draws barcodes. We don't sell or issue barcode numbers. To sell in shops or on marketplaces, get your numbers from GS1 (in India, GS1 India; for books, your ISBN agency). We draw the barcode for the number you already have.
What is the check digit?
The last digit is worked out from the others, so scanners can spot a misread. Type the number without it and we add it; type it in full and we check it.
Which barcode should I use?
EAN-13 for products in most countries, UPC-A in the US and Canada, ISBN for books, ITF-14 for cartons, Code 128 for your own labels and stock.
Does 890 mean the product is made in India?
No. The first digits show which GS1 office issued the number, not where the product is made.
What size should I print an EAN-13?
100 % is 37.29 × 25.93 mm. You can go from 80 % to 200 %. Don't cut the height if the code will be scanned at a checkout.
Which file should I send to my printer?
SVG or PDF: they're vector and exactly sized. For PNG, use 300 DPI or more. Print at 100 % (Actual size), not Fit to page.
Will my barcode scan?
We read every barcode back on your device and check the colours, quiet zone and size. Keep dark bars on a light background and avoid red bars. Test one print with a real scanner before a big run.
Is my data uploaded?
No. Barcodes are made in your browser, so your numbers and CSV files never reach our servers.
Can I make many barcodes or label sheets?
Yes, up to 1,000 at once: paste a list, upload a CSV or make a sequence, then download a ZIP or a label-sheet PDF for A4 or US Letter.
