Flip a coin

Heads or tails in one tap, with a tally and best of 3, 5 or 7. Made on your device.

How it works

  1. 1FlipTap the coin, press Flip or Space.
  2. 2Keep scoreThe tally counts heads, tails and runs.
  3. 3Play best of 3, 5 or 7The first side to win most flips takes the round.

How the numbers are made

Every result comes from your browser's secure random source (the Web Crypto API), the one used for encryption keys. We turn its random bits into your range without favouring any number: values that would make the split uneven are thrown away and drawn again. Nothing is sent to us, so nobody else sees or can change your results. With Repeatable with a seed, the numbers come from the seed instead, so the same seed always gives the same numbers on any device.

Questions

Is it 50/50?

Yes. Heads and tails are equally likely on every flip, and each flip ignores the ones before. Runs of five or six in a row happen by chance more often than people expect.

Can I flip many coins at once?

Yes, up to 1,000. You get a tally of heads and tails and the longest run.

What is best of 3?

You flip until one side has won most of the flips, for example 2 of 3. The round then ends and shows the score.

Can I rename heads and tails?

Yes. Type your own two sides, like Pizza and Burgers, and they replace Heads and Tails everywhere.

Is anything sent or saved?

No. Flips are made in your browser and the tally clears when you close the tab.
