How we count
A month counts once the same day number comes round again. If that day doesn't exist in a month (the 31st, or 29 February), the month counts from the month's last day. This is the rule of the international date standard used by modern browsers (Temporal) and by Java.

Questions
How do I calculate my exact age?
Type your date of birth. The age on today's date appears at once in years, months and days; change "Age on" to see your age on any other date.
How do I find my age on a cut-off date for a form?
Open Age limits, pick the cut-off date from the notification (for example 1 August), and enter the minimum and maximum age. You'll see whether your age is within those limits, by how many days, and the range of birth dates that fit.
Does it check whether I'm eligible for an exam?
No. It only compares your age with the limits you enter. Rules, relaxations and cut-off dates differ for every notification, so always check the official one.
What does "must not have reached 32" mean?
Most notifications say a candidate must not have reached (attained) a given age on the cut-off date. Someone born on the day after the cut-off date, 32 years earlier, is still 31 on that date. Pick the other reading if your notification allows 32 years completed.
How are months counted when they have different lengths?
A month counts once the same day number comes round again; see How we count. Other calculators may use a different rule and show a day's difference around month ends.
I was born on 29 February. When is my birthday?
In years without 29 February, we show 1 March, when a full year is complete; some countries use 28 February.
Can I see my age in days, hours or seconds?
Yes, under Totals. Add your time of birth for exact hours, minutes and seconds.
Can I work out ages for a whole class or staff list?
Yes. Open List, paste names and dates (or open a CSV file) and pick the date. You can copy the table or download it as CSV.
Is my date of birth saved or sent anywhere?
No. Everything is worked out in your browser and nothing is saved. A link made with Copy link contains the dates, so share it only with people you choose.
